The clocks change this month! We lose an hour sleep on the last weekend in March, it’s time to get excited as most of us will now finish work and it will still be day light! With fingers and toes crossed that we have some warmer weather on the way to ease those muscles after a long cold and dark winter.
I have recently been attempting to run again and this is my diary of what happened, I needed my own advice!
Friday 16th March: Run (15 mins), torn calf, ice 1hr and tape up. (Not happy)
Day 2: Heat/ice combo, self-massage
Day 3: Can now put heel down on the floor, and rise on tip toes. Still icing.
Day 4: Take tape off, walking okay (although irritated hip)
Day 5: Very light massage, heat and re taped
Day 6: Almost like it never happened! (Happy again)
Moral: *Remember exercise must be done correctly, or not at all!! and secondly, get treated asap for quick recovery!
